Basic Steps to Configure TP-Link Router for WiFi:

Step 1 : Firstly use Ethernet cable to attach modem or any active data jack with the blue Ethernet port of your T-P Link router.

Step 2 : Thereafter you are required to plug in the router and power on using the power On/Off switch which is located at the back side of the device.

Step 3 : Thereafter you need to connect to a wireless network broadcasted by the router . The default SSID and WPA2 key is printed at the back side or the bottom of the device.

Step 4 : Now you need to open any installed browser on your computer and you have to enter tplinkwifi.net address in the address bar of the browser and press enter to navigate in the next steps.

Step 5 : There might be chance to enter credentials like user name and password which are admin by default. You need to click on the login button to proceed in the next step.

Step 6 : Now you will get the center panel when you logged in. you have to click on the quick setup tab which is labeled at the center panel. You need to click on next to get started.

Step 7 : In the wireless network name field, you have to type SSID which you want to use with your wireless network. You have to keep in mind one of the most important things that nearby computer might be able to see your SSID. Do not use any kind of personal information about the type of router etc.

Step 8 : In the WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK field, type the password which you want to use with your network. Most people say that always use strong password so that no one will not be able to guess your password.

Step 9 : Thereafter click on the next button to proceed next

Step 10 : At the end click on the finish.

Step 11: Now you can disconnect from your wireless network. You have to sign-in using new SSID and password.

Step 12 : You wireless network is now setup.

Additional Security to Configure TP-Link Router for WiFi:

For additional security, we recommend to alter your default username and password for your TP-Link web interface which makes more difficult for other to change the settings which you have done earlier and you are able to prevent some other person to access your network.

Step 1 : First of all you have to open any type of installed browser on your computer wherein you have to enter tplinkwifi.net address in the address bar of the browser  and press the enter button.

Step 2 : Now you will get login screen, where you have to enter some default credentials like username and password which are admin both. Thereafter click on the login button.

Step 3 : Then in the navigation bar of the left side, you have to get another tab which is system tool. You have to click on the system tool and then password.

Step 4 : Thereafter you have to enter admin in both the old username and ols password field.

Step 5 : Now you have to enter new username and password in the new username and new password and confirm password field. It is advised that your password should be 1-15 character and it might not include space. Do not use the same password which you have used for your wireless network and do not share this username and password with another person due to security concern.

Step 6 : At the last you have to click on the save option to save all the settings you have done so far.

Step 7 : Finally you will be logged out the system and also verify that you are able to sign in with new user credentials like username and password.

Step 8 : WPS allow you to connect  device with network without using the WPA2 key . This is the physical security of your router is a possibly concern.

Step 9 : You have to disable WPS by clicking on the navigation bar and click the disable button.
