Xfinity WiFi Keeps Disconnecting - How To Fix In Seconds?

When you are working on the internet to transfer some files and your Xfinity WiFi keeps disconnecting frequently, it may be quite infuriating. I witnessed this issue of intermittent internet connection while sending one file through my email and thus wanted to get this problem properly solved.

In a bid to diagnose this issue, I received key inputs from technicians and a couple of software engineers after having very insightful discussions with them that helped me fix this glitch.

So, here are a few reasons, along with relevant solutions, that can actually be attributed to the unwanted situation of your Xfinity going on and off frequently.

Loose or Gyrated Cables

A loosely attached cord may cause your Xfinity WiFi to disconnect. The connecting wires must be checked in the following way.

Step 1: Try to ensure that the connecting cords are intact by simply holding them for a while. And, if you find the cables connected loosely, you must plug the wires out and should plug it in after waiting for a couple of minutes.

Step 2: In a slightly different scenario the cords may also be gyrated or spun up. To unwhirl the twisting of wires, you should start rotating it slowly in the reversed direction.

Impaired Wires

The connecting wires may have got damaged at either of its ends or in the middle. You must inspect for any impairment of wires and on finding the impaired wires, you must get it replaced.

This apparently is a quick solution to a situation where your Xfinity WiFi keeps disconnecting, but if the problem is still persisting, you may go in for other solutions listed and discussed underneath.

Inappropriate Position of Your Xfinity WiFi

You may have placed your Xfinity router in a closed cabinet or at a distant place. To get this resolved, you must position your Xfinity WiFi router near your workstation or laptop and at a reasonable height. This may fix the issue of the router getting off every now and then.

Multiple Devices Connected to Xfinity Router Leading to Signal Interference

Your Xfinity router may have several devices connected that may probably be weighing down on its bandwidth. You must disconnect all the devices that are not required which may help you reduce down the signal interference and improve the overall performance of your Xfinity WiFi further.

Xfinity Router may not be Functioning Well

There may be yet another reason for the “Xfinity WiFi keeps disconnecting” issue. This time it may be your router that needs to be blamed. To fix the same, follow the following simple steps.

Step 1: Unplug your Xfinity Wifi after switching it off.

Step 2: Insert the wires of your Xfinity router into appropriate jacks after waiting for a few minutes that may help you solve the issue and have a seamless internet connection.

Disabling the Security Options Temporarily

Sometimes due to security-related concerns, your system may be denying opening any specific web server, which by itself, may have caused your Xfinity to malfunction intermittently. You can fix this issue further by disabling the security option for a short time span.

Even after attempting the above set of steps, if you are not able to get the issue resolved, you must promptly contact your internet service for a comprehensive redressal of your grievance.
