How to Connect Nintendo Wii to the Internet?

In this post, you will discover how to use a wireless connection to connect Nintendo Wii to the Internet. The Wii mini does not have the ability to connect to the internet. It is not possible to connect to the Internet through wifi.

Follow These Instructions to Connect the Nintendo with to the Internet

To access the Wii main menu, turn on your Nintendo Wii system and press the A Button on the Wii Remote.

  • Select the Wii button using the Wii Remote.

  • On the Wii main menu, the Wii button is highlighted.
  • To enter the Wii System Settings menu, select Wii Settings.

  • The Wii Settings option is featured on the Wii Settings screen's right side.
  • Scroll to page two and choose Internet using the arrow on the right side of the screen.

  • On the second page of Wii System Settings, the Internet button is highlighted.

Select Connection 1: None from the Drop-Down Menu.

You'll need to clear a connection slot if you don't already have one. Connection 1, the option highlighted in the Connection Settings menu, is set to None.

  • To find an access point, go to Wireless Connection and then Search for an Access Point.

  • You might find our guide on How to Connect the Wii to the Internet with a Wired Connection useful if you're using a wired Internet connection.
  • After choosing Wireless Connection, the Search for an Access Point option appears on the Connection 1 menu.
  • Choose OK. All wireless networks discovered by the Wii will be shown.
  • To begin the search for access points, choose OK from the Connection 1 option.
  • Choose your personal wireless network.

You've been Asked to Enter a Security Code?

If you're asked to provide a password or a key, the wireless network you're trying to connect to has enabled wireless security. You must enter your security key or password and then choose OK.

  • When wireless security is enabled on a selected access point, enter the Password or Key box.

  • Select the Shift key on the on-screen keyboard to switch between upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Also, make sure to check the security type in the top-left corner.
  • Select Change Security Settings and select the appropriate security type if this is not the same security type as your router.

The Nintendo Wii System will do a Wireless Network Connection Test.

When the test is finished, you should see something like this:

  • For as long as you can see The Nintendo Wii Support Code is irrelevant and may be ignored because the connection test was successful.
  • After the connection test, a window with the status of the connection was presented.
  • Your Wii is now connected to the internet if the connection test succeeds.
  • You will be given an error code if the connection test was unsuccessful.
